The 2013 Birds of Paradise Yarra Valley Pinot Noir is rich and ripe. An exceptionally drinkable wine with velvety tannins and spicy French oak balancing the generous cherry and berry flavours. It is a perfect accompaniment to a wide range of dishes, matching beautifully with dishes such as Peking duck, quail & polenta, beans and pork or roasted sweet red peppers with fetta. Fruit for this wine was sourced from our family-owned Yarra Valley vineyards in Gruyere and Coldstream. The 2013 vintage in the Yarra Valley was another warm and compact one. Plenty of rain early in the season, followed by a long hot dry summer & early Autumn, resulted in rich ripe wines, surprisingly well-balanced with deep colour and great length.
