BROVIA D.D ALBA SOLATIO 19
Long a favorite among Nebbiolo cognoscenti, Brovia produces some of Piedmont’s most profoundly expressive wines. Yet, this cantina has long flown under the radar, only recently gaining recognition as one of Barolo’s traditional giants.
BROVIA D.D ALBA SOLATIO is a wine produced only in exceptional vintages from the old-vines vineyard in Serralunga d’Alba. Harvested in late September or early October for maximum ripeness, the wine ferments for 10 days to two weeks, is aged in a mix of stainless steel and smaller oak barrels and then blended (but not filtered) before bottling. This rare and compelling wine has a proven capability to age brilliantly, showing a complexity and richness that is rare in the world of Dolcetto.
