Château Beychevelle, a prestigious Cru Classé with a soul shaped by three centuries of history. Under Henri III, Beychevelle was the fiefdom of the Dukes of Epernon. According to the legend, the ships passing in front of his château had to lower their sails as a sign of allegiance. Hence the name of “”Baisse-Voile”” which has become Beychevelle. The emblem of the Beychevelle château is a ship with a griffon bow lowering its sail. Philippe Blanc, now the director of the vineyard, strives to give regularity to this 4th Grand Cru Classé in 1855.
