The Mission Haut-Brion vineyard owes its name, its origins, and is three centuries reputation to the Congregation of the Mission (Vincentian fathers) founded in the 17th century. This estate was given to them in 1682 by the owner’s heirs.The vineyard spreads on about 21 hectares of an average age of 30 years on a gravelly soil and production amounts to 75 barrels per year depending on the vintages.
