The second wine of both Châteaux Léoville Poyferré and Moulin Riche, Pavillon de Léoville Poyferré is a wine accessible in its youth. It is neither presented nor sold en primeur.You will find 4 grape varieties in this bottle, mostly Cabernet Sauvignon, then Merlot, then a few bunches of Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc to add depth. To not score too much the wine, this second wine is aged in barrels aged 1 or 2 wines.

A taste profile of purity, concentration and lush fruits. Opens with distinct aromas of juicy blackberry, cassis, bay leafs and liquorice. The palate is dense with fresh strawberries and raspberries, toasted oak, hazelnut and dark chocolate. Medium-bodied with pleasantly grainy tannins rounded off with a delightfully fresh and mineral finish.
