NECHI VALLEY GOHYAKUMANGOKU 2020

Appears watery white with a touch of straw. Although bottled while still young this sake has unexpected complexity with sulphurous mineral aromas like wet stone, alongside notes of aniseed, freshly cooked rice, bamboo leaf-like herbs and banana. The palate is well-balanced with a harmonious blend of delicate sweetness and gentle mid-range acidity, and although the finish is dry there is a long-lasting lingering after-taste of marshmallow. Based on its medium body, rich mineral aroma and excellent balance, it has excellent potential for ageing for three to five years.
