Poggiocaro Brunello is made from 100% Sangiovese from selected fields around Montalcino, in southern Tuscany. Matured min. 2 years in large, traditional botti casks, as well as several months in bottle before release.
The harvest is exclusively handpicked between the last week of September and the first week of October. Fermentation takes 15-20 days in stainless steel vats at controlled temperature, with frequent pumping over. The wine is aged in oak barrels for 36 months and then a further maturation in bottle for at least 6 months.
