A second wine of Château Ducru-Beaucaillou, La Croix Ducru-Beaucaillou is a red wine produced in the Saint-Julien appellation. The vineyard is located on Günz terroir. The ageing is carried out in oak barrels for 12 months, with 60% new barrels and 40% barrels used for one previous wine.
The wine has very complex nose such as cassis, earth, black plums, black cherries and mulberries with wafts of menthol, cigars and crushed rocks. Medium bodied, the palate is lively and earthy with firm, grainy tannins, finishing long and mineral-laced.
